TILTCO products have been inspected after the sixth worst Atlantic hurricane recorded, Hurricane Ivan, and have been shown to withstand this natural disaster without damage and were still functional. The simulation is carried out on the window or door by applying positive and then negative pressure at 3 second cycles for an elapsed amount of time. These pressure cycles test whether the glass units will eject from the glazing cavity or remain stationary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This test depicts the impact of flying debris from hurricane force winds. The impact test is carried out with a 2\u201dx4\u201d piece of lumber between 6 to 8 feet in length. TILTCO windows and doors have been impact tested with a 2\u201dx4\u201d piece of lumber – being fired at a velocity of over 200 miles per hour.
