Project Sand Castle is a contemporary residential pavilion and main residence designed by Gabriel Fain Architects, set within a natural, wooded landscape along Vivian Road in Cedar Valley. The architecture emphasizes restraint, proportion, and material honesty, using clean volumes, strong horizontal lines, and carefully framed openings to establish a quiet dialogue between the built form and its surroundings.
The glazing strategy plays a central role in the project’s architectural expression. Entry points are defined by SL38 aluminum entry doors, offering slim sightlines and precise detailing. Window systems combine CW50 curtain wall and SL38 window profiles, allowing large expanses of glass while maintaining thermal performance and structural clarity. For primary living areas, CP-155 lift-and-slide doors create seamless transitions between interior spaces and the surrounding landscape, reinforcing the project’s indoor–outdoor relationship.
All aluminum systems are finished in C32 Bronze Medium Light Anodized, a refined anodized tone that responds subtly to changing light conditions and complements the natural palette of the site. The finish adds depth and warmth while preserving the crisp, contemporary language of the architecture.
